Lunchtime today was classic cruising conditions at Hove. If you could bottle windsurfing and sell it to the masses, today was the day. Blue skies, green sea and rainbows in your wake. No wave board, so dug out the vintage Coppello slalom board. Rigged 5.5m ezzy in 2 minutes flat and it set PERFECT, one of those days. Perfect size too, just hook in lock it down and go. Board had a big 28cm fin on so you could get anywhere you wanted upwind or downwind. No crowds, just seagulls following and the occasional fish and the happy nudists down past Fat Boy Slim's place. Hove is excellent like this, the waves were coming from your side, but they were getting steep and waist high or more. All easy, full power, miles and miles, sunburn, smiles, happy days, back to basics, nothing wrong with old boards, groovy. Even finished my last run with a Miami Vice head dip to flatten the hair down ready for the office.
